Torah pointer or a yad (hand) for the Torah is a Jewish ritual pointer, used to point to the text during the Torah reading from the parchment Torah scrolls. It is intended to prevent touching the sacred parchment. A Yad for the Torah is a traditional Bar Mitzvah gift.
